What I found interesting about this article was that he struggled to end racial division. Mandela was the first black president, just like Obama, for his country. He also focused on charities for children after his retirement and talking about aids which killed his son. Nelson Mandela was very important because he kept on trying and he cared about many people. His death was saddening for many people because of all the things he did and all the hearts he touched.
